Camberwell
South Cellars is a fine wine liquor store on
Toorak Road
in the leafy south-eastern suburb of Camberwell South. At first it
was a grocery store before the then-proprietor experimented and
turned a back section of the store into a liquor area. Soon that
liquor section had transpired into the whole shop!! Over the 40
years of the store’s existence one thing has remained true –
exemplary customer service with every expectation met.
JAMES & SIMONE HALL
| James
& Simone met at
University
of
Ballarat
in 1994 and together completed a Bachelor of Management course.
After University they worked for an Australian tourism firm in
America
marketing and then leading tours to places such as The Fiji
Islands,
New Zealand
,
Cairns
,
Zimbabwe
and
South Africa
. Europe beckoned after
America
where they travelled and worked the odd job to support themselves.
They returned to Glen Iris (where James had grown up and
attended the local St. Cecilia’s Primary School) for a
couple of years.

However,
it wasn’t long before they got another bout of the
‘travel-bug’ This time the destination was
Japan
where they taught English in
Hiroshima
as well as Takayama in the heart of the Japan Alps. When
in the process of finishing up in
Japan
they were told Camberwell South Cellars was up for sale
and decided it would be the perfect challenge and
opportunity.
In
September 2002 James & Simone took over the running
of Camberwell South Cellars and both believe they
couldn’t have a better group of loyal local customers. |
